I vote Ned Fig 01, 02, & 03 (all the same thing).

I never imagined a firesteel could be cool enough to attract women, but that is definitely the italian sports car of the firesteel world.

I vote for BackCountry!
Really like the clean simple yet beautifully userfriendly design.
Those would be a joy to carry in my pocket.
(I will steal the designs for my future projects.)

Good luck everyone!
Anders

One vote for Billman.

For what it's worth, I also considered CBryant and NickWong. Great stuff, people.

another vote for backcountrybowhunter. I like the looks of the wood! Beautiful.

I like the back country designs. It looks like he used cocobollo in at least two of them. Cocobollo is a very oily tropical hardwood that ignites even better than fatwood. Don't know if that was his intent, but some scrapings off of the cocobollo and you are good to go!

FoxyRick's LED firesteel shows a lot of innovation. It gets my vote.

I got to say, I like them all! I would be proud to carry any of them. They all show some level of elegance or usefulness. Not sure about attracting women though.... and whomever anonymous #2 is, yes, the oily scrapings are a part of the design, but really just an emergency type of thing. I built all of mine with scraps from various bows I have built (yes, including the mule deer antler), and cocobollo is a very popular riser material.

Thanks for your votes!

Definately anders 01 I like the simple yet useful design it would work well for me in a survival situation because of the lanyard I have a tendency to drop things

I'm sad that I haven't gotten any votes but with the competition being so good I can understand :)

I'll cast my vote for CBryant_01 & CBryant_02 (not mine). It's designed simple an looks comfortable to hold.

I like the CLAK one as it is never out of my reach and nobody knows it is there, plus it is the only staff based firesteel I have ever seen, and comes with its own tinder!
